Open house recipes and recap

Hi everyone! Just finished my one-day open house yesterday and, Whew! What a whirlwind! Glad to see so many people come out to see me in my home. We had many tasty things set out showcasing some of Longaberger's new food items so I thought I would share a recipe or two!
Fruit Pizza:
2 rolls of refrigerated sugar cookie dough
1 packet Longaberger White Chocolate Amaretto Mix
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
8oz. whipped toppping
Toppings: Strawberries, blueberries, mandarin oranges, pineapple tidbits, almond slivers
Preheat over to 350. Slightly grease the bottom of a Woven Traditions Handled Platter. Spread the cookie dough evenly on the center of the platter, covering the entire bottom (not the sides). Bake 15-20 minutes or until cookie is slightly browned. Set aside to cool. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese and White Chocolate Amaretto Mix with a mixer until well combined. Add whipped topping and mix well. Spread mixture on top of cooled cookie. Top with a variety of fruit. Store in refrigerator until ready to serve. (Recipe submitted by my friend Wendy Smallwood).
Sorry about bites missing! Apparently it was great!
And another recipe, not Longaberger, but a favorite for sure.
Mexican Caviar (Avacado salsa):
2 (15oz) cans black beans, rinsed, drained
2 (11oz) cans Mexicorn (canned vegetable aisle)
3 tomatoes, seeded, chopped
4 avacados, seeded, chopped
1 large red onion, chopped
6 scallions, chopped
1/2 cup vegetable or olive oil
1/4 cup white vinegar
2 envelopes, Italian salad dressing mix (dry mix)
Combine black beans, mexicorn, tomatoes, avacados, red onion, and scallions in large bowl and mix well. Mix the oil, vinegar, and salad dressing mix in a small bowl. Pour over the black bean mixture and toss to coat. Serve with torilla chips. Serves 20-24, can be stored in frig for up to 4 days. Can be easily halved for smaller gatherings...thanks to my friends Sam, Jeni and Mickie for sharing. Yumo!!!
This also went really fast, but we managed to snap a close-up before it was all gone.
I hope you all are doing wonderfully, I am busy running around after a week at the beach in NC. Glad to be back though! Before I run, I wanted to share a picture that a friend/customer and hostess sent from her Back Porch, her summer harvest.. Thanks Nancy Keller from Middletown, MD!

Following This Blog.

Hi everyone, Taylor again, I have some information that may make following this blog a bit easier! I have been trying to figure out how those who read this could receive emails when new posts go up and I believe I've got it. This is just so you don't always have to check back everyday to see if a new post has gone up. Let me know if it works (or doesn't) in the comments section.

Go down to the very bottom of the page and click the "Subscribe to posts" link. On the page that appears click on the "Subscribe in mail" link that appears on the right hand side of the page. That should do it. If not, again, let me know and I'll fix the information provided above!

Look who dropped by my frontporch this morning, she knew she was welcome! At first we thought she may have been injured, but she was just stopping by for a quick rest (and photoshoot) before she flew off on her way.

Check out our Summertime Floral Dinnerware, dishwasher and freezer safe, our melamine is avaliable in Tumblers, Soup/Salad bowls, Dinner Plates and a Platter. Use to carry from indoors to outdoors. They're perfect for the youngest of party guests, durable and clean up is a breeze. We used this set for Paige's 13th birthday party. She and her three friends loved being treated in fun, bright, and happy style. Order now before they leave the line August 31st. Hosting a $250 show will grab you the entire set for only $47.50.

Can I say that I love, love, LOVE this Watermelon Medium Market Basket? It was avaliable as an online offer and truly is a personal favorite of mine this summer. I ordered a few extra and if any of you would like one, feel free to ask!
To all of you who have supported me in my business I must say a heartfelt, "Thank you." The blog has officially taken off! We hope to have this page updated at least twice a week in the near future so be sure to check back. Oh and one more thing, please share this blog with others, thanks again!

Updates, updates, updates

Hello everyone, Taylor here again. As the Bee draws closer things get a bit hectic around here and this wonderful little website is a work in progress! I will post from time to time to let everyone know what is currently in the works to make sure you all know that we're still here! Very busy here as my mom get everything together for the Bee and the things that lead up to it. Home-shows, speaking engagements, and, as always, being a great mom take up a fair amount of time.

Fear not! Once this conference call is over (if it ever is that is...) We'll be back to getting ideas and tech training up and running.

Some fun new ideas for summer!

Glad to see you all here, I have to run to set up for a show but I thought I would post a few pictures just to give you a taste of what's to come. If you're coming here through the URL given in my newsletter, don't worry! There will be more text later explaining what I have in mind for our great products. The pictures are just a bit of a tease!

Here is the wrought iron window box with brights (same as the close up below).

Below that was a quick set-up for a Fourth of July style picnic (complete with my son's veggie dog....).

But anyways, out the door for me! This isn't a final post, just something to let you all know that I am here. Check back later for more information and ideas!

Hello Everyone!

Hello! First of all, sorry to disappoint but this is Susie's son Taylor, not Susie. This is a first post to say, "Welcome!" to everyone while technical specs are worked out to get this blog up and running to its full potential!

Many things to come in the future including product use information, colorful pictures, Longaberger product ideas, and the whimsical musing from time to time. So! We look forward to your readership and feedback so that we can make this website as informative and fun as possible. Feel free to leave a comment now and then!

See you all soon!
